I dance therefore I am

I was born 24th May 1952 (Sun and Moon in Gemini) in Oxford, UK. I went to school and university in Manchester, then lived in London for 15 years, (which with hindsight was probably at least 10 years too many)! Nowadays I live near Stroud, working as a computer specialist in local government.

My main love (which has become both work and play) is called Circle Dance. I have been leading this sacred dance form since 1992. I am part of the circle dancing family, and in the UK the network is called The Grapevine which publishes a quarterly journal (more information from www.circledancenetwork.org.uk ).

I am very much involved in this dance family, teaching regular groups, organising and teaching longer special events, and creating new circle dances which have been taken all over the world. I owe a great deal to other dance leaders in the UK who are my friends - particularly Nawal Gadalla, Dee Voce, June Watts, Stefan and Bethan Freedman, Judy King, Mandy de Winter and Laura Shannon. Many thanks to you all for your inspiration.

My friends also know me as someone with a total passion for music, which I buy in bulk (CDs being a higher priority than food)!! I am particularly besotted with the music of Greece, Ireland and Northern Spain. I also play the Irish bouzouki, the penny whistle and, more recently, the fiddle. I enjoy playing music for circles of dancers whenever possible.
