About Hazel

I was born in Oxford, UK. I went to school and university in Manchester, then lived in London for 15 years, before moving to the Bristol area. Nowadays I live near Stroud in the South Cotswolds and I am retired from full-time employment.

My main love is Dance. I have been teaching dance since 1992. Initially I was a circle dancer and my dance teaching was entirely within the circle dance repertoire, but in the last 25 years or so I have expanded my interest in international folk dance with a particular enthusiasm for Greek Dance (each year I visit Greece to dance).

Nowadays I call my dancing World Dance. I prefer this label as it indicates my dancing horizons are not limited. The music is from everywhere, and so are the dances.

I teach regular evening groups locally, and I organise and teach longer special events, wherever I may be invited. I also create new dances which have been taken all over the world.

I owe a great deal to other dance leaders: many thanks to you all for your inspiration and generosity. My friends also know me as someone with a total passion for music. I particularly love the music of Greece, Ireland and Northern Spain.

So GREETINGS, and I hope to find myself dancing with you soon!
