REMEMBERING YVES MOREAU

with Hazel Young

Sadly we lost Yves Moreau in 2023. A warm, generous man and a great teacher who was passionate about the dance and music traditions of the Balkans, particularly Bulgaria. Join me for a feast of dances from the Balkans I learnt from Yves Moreau. One or two of the dances will be more challenging, but all the dances will be repeated several times to help us go deeper into the dances. We will also encounter some old favourites. The day will not be suitable for beginners.

A day to dive deep into dances created by June Watts. Open to any dancer, whether you knew June & her dances, or not. June’s dances include some of the most extraordinary, beautiful, powerful, joyful and sacred creations in our sacred circle dance repertoire

Hazel danced regularly with June for nearly 30 years. She is passionate about keeping June’s legacy alive in the global SCD network.
