At mid-winter, the shortest day, we pause to reflect on our life journey, in harmony with the changing season and the return of the Sun, with winter solstice dances and simple ceremony. Some previous experience of Circle Dance is desirable.

Treading gently on the earth, we’ll celebrate the beauty of our amazing planet home, and all the living creatures and plants that share Mother Earth with us.

Come for a special non-residential event (lots of accommodation options close by) at a wonderful dancing venue. The dances offered will be a blend of mostly gentle, meditative circle dances, to light up the heart and lift the spirit, with all the dances carefully taught and repeated for maximum benefit.

We will start our event together at 11:00am

on Saturday 15th August, & bid each other “au revoir” at 4:00pm on Sunday 16th August.

About us:

Chrisandra
Chrisandra has been teaching folk, circle and meditation dance for 40 years. She has a particular interest in Armenian, Greek and Anatolian dances, has travelled extensively along the Old Silk Road and has led many overseas group holidays to these areas. She is also internationally known for her dance choreographies to beautiful music. In addition she has an interest in using dance as ritual to mark seasons or specific themes. She is an empowering teacher helping people find their dancing feet and dancing heart.
 

Hazel Young
Hazel has been teaching Circle Dance for 35 years, gaining an international reputation as a dance leader and choreographer. She has a great enthusiasm for folk dance (with a particular passion for Greek dance and music) together with a love of more meditative and contemporary circle dances. With a relaxed and humorous approach to dance teaching, at the same time she is dedicated to helping dancers discover the magic of the Dance. As a musician, for Hazel the music is the inspiration.
